What caused you to get into pet sitting/dog walking?
After working in Human Resources for over 25 years and being laid off four times during and after the pandemic, I realized it was time to pivot. I've always had a deep love for animals and found joy and peace in their presence. Starting Sniffari Strolls was my way of building something meaningful, rooted in care and connection, while offering a much-needed service to my community.
What is the most fulfilling part of owning a pet sitting/dog walking business?
The bonds I form with both the animals and their humans. It is incredibly rewarding to earn their trust and be a consistent, calming presence. I love being part of a pet's routine and watching shy or nervous pets open up over time.
What is the most challenging?
Navigating the emotional demands of the job. Whether it is saying goodbye to a beloved pet client or managing the stress of high client expectations, it requires a deep well of empathy, patience, and professionalism.
Where do you see your business in 5 years?
I see Sniffari Strolls expanding into a trusted brand and educational platform. I am currently building The Pet Sitter Hub™, a resource center for aspiring pet care professionals. My goal is to elevate the industry by helping others set a higher standard of care, what I call The Sniffari Standard™.
